Edible Pumpkin Face Mask

As Halloween draws to an end so does the remains of my Percy pumpkin. I have well and truly scrimped as many delicious dishes as I possibly can from Percy. So here's my final one, well, almost final, I decided to toast some Marmite Pumpkin Seeds also as an extra treat! My Edible Pumpkin Honey & Cinnamon Face Mask. Yum.

I've done a little reading up on the benefits of pumpkin for your skin so thought I'd pass on a few little nuggets. It would seem that pumpkins are packed full of anti wrinkle vitamins such as A, C & E and to help reduce the puffy redness of your skin - tons of beta cerotene and antioxidants! Sounds like the perfect concoction to feed your skin.

I could definitely do with some pampering as I've spent the entire day spring cleaning & DIY-ing to my hearts content. Don't you find when you have a good sort out of clutter and dust away a few cob webs it feels like you've been at a therapy session for free. My head feels so organised and tidy now.

I digress.

What you'll need//

2 tbsp Pumpkin Puree*
1 tbsp Honey
2 tbsp Natural Yog
1 tsp Cinnamon

*How do you make the Pumpkin Puree I hear you say? Simply chop up a mugful of pumpkin innards and boil for approx 20 mins or until pumpkin is tender. Sieve to get rid of excess water and blend with a mixer or hand blender. Or if you're feeling lazy just grab a can of ready made pumpkin puree. I used my leftovers from my pumpkin chocolate chip cookies

Stir in the natural yogurt which contains lactic acid to helps exfoliate and hydrate your skin.

Dollop on the honey- great for preventing and treating acne so lather it on to your hearts content!

Sprinkle the cinnamon on top and give it all a good stir. And why not add a little extra cinnamon to give those blemishes a bigger dose of collagen to boost the skin (and mainly because it just smells so darn good!)

Smother it over your face making sure you put it near your mouth so you sneak a few licks when no ones watching. Avoid your eye area and leave on for approx 10 mins. It might tingle a little but if you feel any discomfort then wash off immediately. Gently remove with a damp cloth and warm water. Sit back, relax and enjoy your new fresh, pumpkiny plump skin.

If you're feeling extra indulgent why not bake a batch of my Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies to go with it and bask in Pumpkin heaven.

Weeelllll….it is a Sunday. Treat yourself.

Betty x
